Rocky Mountain National Park Field School This Summer!

Looking forward to leading the Center for Archaeological Studies’ upperclassman Field School in Historical Archaeology this summer in Rocky Mountain National Park. The eight-week course will involve surveying, assessing, and excavating the site of the old Cordero Mine on the east flank of Mount Chapin, high above the town of Estes Park.

There are still slots available for anyone interested. Check the Center website for dates and prerequisites.

Durango Archaeological Principles Course

Had a great time last week as guest instructor for the Intro to Archaeological Principles course at the Center for Archaeological Studies in Durango. Fun to be back in my old stomping grounds.

I was blown away by the quality of discourse among the students. Top-notch questions, perceptive follow-ups. The Center clearly is attracting some high-end students these days.
